as have england

italy i expected to fade, spains loss was a shock though.

france and england should be better though its embarassing.

after watching that 7-0 route i might bet on portugal. mexico doing well but a bit above their means, they are like the usa in that they are good and could give any team a run for their $, but their not champsionhip material.

I hate Portugal and C. Ronaldo. Deco is the only Portugese player I really like. 

Can somebody tell me what the hell is up with England? I know that France is all screwed up, but I hear that England is worse. I know the standings, I'm talking about stuff within the team. France is acting like a bunch of fools, its the freaking World Cup, you don't screw around. England is not performing (especially Rooney). I want to see Argentina do well because Messi is so much fun to watch.

well you got argentina, brazil, and portugal.  argentina has a very unique playing style with just a couple good players on the offense and a massive unbreakable defense.  messi is also an extremely good player, so my bets on them.  portugal scored 7 and 0 against north korea because theyre probably the worst team out of all, brazil also smashed them pretty hard.  brasil and portugal was a tie so really its anyones best guess.  they all won their game in the next round.  id go with argentina just because their style has been effective.

yeah mexico got a unfair shake.

and while england played soooo bad they dont deserve to go on, their goal that didnt count make a big diff. if that goal is allowed the game is 2-2 and their defense is forced to play honest. when you have a couple goal cushion over your opponent is hard to score as they change formations and go with 5 defenders and 4 midfielders and just clog the back all to hell,,, they dont have to score anymore so much as just survive the next 20mins so your really fighting an uphill battle.

Yeah, after watching Argentina v. Germany and considering how well Germany have been performing, I think they are probably my front-runners for victory. Paraguay got cheated out of a win against Spain. They had a goal called back in the first half that was good. Offsides was called (one player was, but he wasn involved), and so Spain survived. Then on the penalty kick, 2 Spain players were way inside the box before it was kicked, should have been a retake if Spains ended up being a retake...

Oh well, if Spain can barely beat Paraguay, Germany will probably give them more than a hard time...

Netherlands chances?

I thought Netherlands was gonna be beastly because of there undefeated record of eight straight wins heading into the playoffs. But then again, they haven't shown that much skill thus far in the tournament. As you are aware i'm rooting for Germany and there is no doubt in my mind that they'll be at the championship... but i wouldn't underestimate either Spain or the Netherlands.
