anyone got this or any info on if it works/ how well it works?

I cant find alot of info on the net about it at the moment.

I had previously never seen many ps3 games ripped for download on the net... the last few weeks have seen alot more titles and such become available for download on certain sites. like a x500 times increase in the amount of games.

furthermore the ripped ps3 games I am finding are from reliable uploaders... i am sure they are legit files... i use these folks for my wii games and they are always correct. always.

they wouldnt waste their time uploading a bunch of 5-10gb ps3 files that werent playable... there is someway to get them to work. I suspect u can manually add them to ps3 internal HD but have yet to see that confirmed on a site selling the ps3 jailbreak or w/e

also curious about online play with this thing if it just freezes the firmware for installed game as theorized on a forum i frequent then i doubt online play works... not only do you have to stay up on ps3 firmware updates but most games have their own updates as well. maybe i am wrong would love to play these online for free.

so does anyone have one or can provide more insight about this? I am all ears.

They have a lot of this stuff for iPod apps, apparently it IS legal. I doubt it though.

To clarify things

Jailbreaking any hardware to accept new software is legal, however many use that to make applications or install such  that lets you make copies of games or commercial software and use pirated software and game, and that is illegal.

exemple, you jailbreak your ipod, fine, you can add features to it change the theme of the icons and stuff, and buy new apps made for jailbreaked ipods, what is illegal is using new software to download pirated applications for which you do have to pay for.

now doing that to the ps3.. well some will do it just to see if the can install linux on it.
(if it can be done on a game cube it can be done on something powerfull like a ps3)
and that's fine. they cant do anything about that. its legal.

but really, the point is to do it and then install just what you need on it so you can play copied games or downloaded gamed without paying for it. and that's not legal.
The first applications made to get there will be developed so you can make copies of games you buy and play the copied disk for yourself so you don't ever damage the original disk... and that is legal...(but its bullshit, they do it to copy rented games or download copies)

now that we all learned well in class, does anyone have any real info on what Mr. D is talking about, which is about real tangible information on how to get your ps3 to play copied games, or are you all just gonna "neji" it and tell us what you think or know about jailbreaking...

To my knowledge, JailBreak is legit. I use it for my iPod and get all of the apps for free. They are normally ones you would have to pay for. I haven't been told its illegal, nothing has happened to me or anybody I know that uses it. It's either illegal or too secure for the people using it too get fucked.

well if you're wanting to play online it's gonna have problems. though i think it'll benefit trophy hunters if the game doesn't require them to play online like kz2.

     Not true, there is no way of getting there regular apps in the itunes store for free unless they were free to begin with.  Jailbroken iPods get apps through the program Cydia.  People create apps that mimic other but they aren't the legit ones. 

     In my opinion, Jailbreaking isn't worth it.  I have done it for my ipod and psp and all it does is slow down the system.  Sure there might be a few cool apps here and there, but you'll eventually get bored with it and want the old, better running version back.

the "jailbreak" term only applies to ipads i wish theyd stop referring to hacking in general as jailbreaking... i didnt jailbreak my wii or psp.... i hacked em

psp and wii are infinitely faster on custom firmware

apart from regular options that load just as fast... with a hacked psp the game is loaded from memory stick instead of umd... so its faster loading or less load time whatever you look at it

my wii loads games more than twice as fast as a regular wii... i load games off a HD thru usb bypassing the disc slot, disc games run at 6x and the wii HD reads them at least twice as fast.... games etc load up nearly instantaneous

the only thing missing from psp with custom firwmare is the PSN but thats useless anyway cant send mesages or anyting anyway... its JUST to log in to ps store.... but with a hacked psp you get the real games for free not just the free demos from the ps store

ps3 is a differnt beast and you may be correct regarding it, but if you think your psp is better with normal firmware vs custom your mistaken (provded you install the right custom firmware, and do so correctly)

i still may buy one of these when they start selling them i want to try this ps3 jailbreak thing out

I was referring to my iPod when I said it slows it down.  I only have Mac OS X Leopard on my psp.

i dont have a ipad i detest itunes so i cant speak for them at all but your psp should be golden if youve got m33-6 custom firmware installed
